IF you are looking for Free Image creating software which also doubles as a Virtual Drive then the answer is Daemon Tools

Daemon Tools v3.47
Mounting images as virtual drives gives you some interesting benefits:

- You can test your image files before burning them to CDs
- You can copy your original software as image file and run it from it. This improves usage speed a LOT and this way your orginal CD doesn't get worned out
- You can keep important CDs handy as image files for exp. in your laptop.

Daemon Tools is able to emulate most copy protections, so they won't keep you from taking the advantage of virtual drives.

WOW...so many replies....
Actually, I had just borrowed my friend's NFS-UG2 CD for a few hours and needed to permanently mount it as a virtual drive on 2 PCs.....
WHen I searched for Virtual CD creators, All I found were demos/sharewares which troo were ~30-40 MB downloads which'd have taken me an hour to download......

SO what I did was posted the query on TE, and got a nice reply from sonnyboy in less than a few mins......
I had the Nero suite on my PCs and never realized it already has a utility to do this.....
As for the ISO creation , in the hurry, I could not spot any option in Nero for disabling deletion of the iso....so i started a CD copy, copied the image file from the Nero temp directory to another folder, and cancelled the burn...;-)

Then we had a 4 hour long LAN session till 3 AM with some 5 KFs for company. ;-) ..Now am all groggy eyed in the office.... :)
