Hi ALL;
I have a Thinkpad T42, type 2373 from Toshiba.Crucial says that it can take 1GB, 200-pin SODIMM, DDR PC2700 memory module.
# Module Size: 1GB
# Package: 200-pin SODIMM
# Feature: DDR PC2700
# Specs: DDR PC2700 • CL=2.5 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR333 • 2.5V • 128Meg x 64

Does it mean that I can take only take that or can I take a PC3200 or PC2100?

Thanks

Your laptop probably supports a max of 333MHz RAM speed, hence the recommendation for PC 2700.

You can use PC 3200 RAM sticks and they will automatically downclock to PC 2700 speeds, so that isn't an issue.

As for PC 2100 sticks, they might throw up problems if your BIOS is not flexible enough to let it run at lower than 333MHz speeds. Plus anyway you might be bottlenecking the memory subsystem, so its better to stick to PC 2700/3200 speeds.
