I havent bought any major pc hardware in 10 years so dont have knowledge about DDR4 timings. I am looking to buy 2x8gb 3200mhz ram. I see some brands have different timings for 3200 mhz. Are there any of these which have to avoided? Us is basic browsing and some gaming.

You can buy any timing sticks and tweaks/lower the timings. Just get the trusted and compatible modules.

For best value for money go for any 3200 mhz Ram with CL16.
Also nowadays 3600mhz is also very cheap if your mobo supports u you can go for it.
Tighter the timing, the better it is.
But it is not a huge deal in case you cant find very tight timing Rams. Not much much of a performance drop.
