there are 2 things i need help in and ill be very grateful to anyone who helps me. ill even sell my soul to them. (jk)

1. there are many programs on the web that change some registry file to make the speed of your internet connection increase by 300% . is this true or is this some sort of way to distrubite spyware? i havent tried any of those programs but is there any way to increase the speed of my internet connection? i play alot of games online and i noticed that my pings are always high but when im downloading stuff and use 40 threads to download something i always get very high download speeds like 100kbps. is there anyway i can make my online gaming perform the same way as a download with 40 threads?

2. i need help regarding hardware. like shop numbers and places i should go to fix my microsoft sidewinder game pad pro. its an outdated usb gamepad, and in order to use it i have to bend its wire and stick the wire in that position or the pad wont show up in game controllers. that isnt such a problem. the real problem is that one of the triggers doesnt work right, and its very very important that i get it fixed right away because i need it for a gear down button in nfs most wanted and i simply cant do without it. i opened the gamepad once before and its not a plastic contact point thats torn or something inside the pad, theres some other mechanism with some button that looks like its connected to some IC. is there anyway i can fix the pad by going to some electronics shop or is the trigger gone forever?
 
most of the programs tht u meantioned in point 1 are really not meant to work on Indian connections..
btw pls mention which type of connection u have and which ISP..

As for the 2nd query, i would suggest u ask the retailer where you should get it fixed
 
my uncle got me this pad from america 5 years ago. i realised that im not comfortable playing nfs with any other gamepad and its a windows 95/98 pad that isnt supposed to be compatible with windows xp but it auto detects and works without the sidewinder software. and the thing is, the pad is totally out of production. and i really need to get that button fixed.
 
thanks man. i really love my rig. noone believes that i have the rig tho, but its alright. its from the future. you'll see (oh youll see) in 2056 A.D what comps will be in production.... and youll say "xxxk , arun REALLY had a comp from the future" and that you were wrong all along...

What will be your age by 2056 A.D i don't think that you will be using that rig specially for playing games. Maybe EXTREME EXTREME HD videos of bhajan kirtans would be an apt use.:ohyeah: :ohyeah:

AFAIK you cannot increase the speed of ur connection just by installing a s/w, by that i mean to say that you cannot exceed the max. speed of ur connetion by any legal means.

Its hard to have it fixed unless you do it urself... get yourself an xbox 360 controller... way better ergonomics.
 
i wanted to get myself an xbox 360 controller but it wasnt available anywhere. so instead, i bought myself one of them asus xitepads. the pad is good, but its just my dumb monkey luck that it stinks when it comes to racing. and its not the ergonomics, its just that im not comfortable racing with any other pad other than the microsoft sidewinder game pad pro (especially because it has an extremely precise analog d pad) . all i need is shop numbers of electronic guys, ppl that solder stuff, sh t like that. im sure many of you have gone to ppl like that so i just need to get in contact with any of them. in mumbai.
 
for that isp thingy arun saab its not possible.
and it depends on what kind of connection you have
by 100 kbps u mean 100 kilo bytes or bits.
iif its bytes u surely have a nice connection but increasing ur speed is not possible in tht way.
its possible to get good pings though try changing ur dns.
 
Arun, the changes you asked for the ISP are not possible...enjoy while they dont have a limit imposed as yet:P

Yes, its free for all atm;)
And will be back to that crappy 1GB PM limit soon...and download speeds will be capped to 9kbps soon. Oh and the online gaming ports will be blocked too.

As for the gamepad, do let me know if u find someone i would like to get my Wingman Light checked too...
 
if the online ports are blocked im going 9/11 on the vivekananda (name changed to avoild publicity) broadband building because they only wish for us to suffer, nothing else.

i reallllyyy need to get the pad fiXXXed.... :'(
