I think we all agree that TE is immensely popular among the Indian computer enthusiast community. This is due to a number of reasons, but the first and foremost being the quality of advice that is offered on our forums. The reviews that are up on the site are a part of that advice and help a lot of people to take the right choice when buying new stuff.
Recently I noticed that there are a number of quality reviews on TE, which have been rated as one or two stars. To be fair, I noticed this only after a couple of my reviews were also hit by the same type of ratings.
Infact, the latest review by Shripad on the 5870 has also received very low ratings, and this is not done. Taking into account the number of benchmarks he has included I can only imagine the time and effort that has gone into it.
Now most of the time these ratings are given by guys who have no clue what they are reading, or guys who like to put down someone else's hard work.
As a reviewer, I feel extremely hurt when my work is being put down in this way. I hope I speak for all when I say that this rating system needs to be more transparent and everyone should be able to see the ratings given by members on an individual level.
I have no idea if this is feasible or not, but I think we need to appreciate those who put in the hard work to share their experience and expertise freely on these forums and from whom me and you learn a lot.
