Reddit chat messenger issues

Observing this since 4 months now the chat/messenger window doesn't load at all in reddit irrespective of waiting for hours.
Many users have complained but to no vail.
  1. Tried on a new account/new windows user a/c, various browsers.
  2. Tried on different systems and with different users (they have gave up completely)
  3. No a/c ban issue as tried on many new a/cs same issue.
  4. No Internet issues...200mps fixed line + tried on airtel 5g/Jio/Vi etc.

Can anyone here confirm and have any solution?
 
I don't know about your other issues, but as far as I know, new accounts got have chat enabled until a specified time (days or weeks?) /karma limit. I know this from experience, haha.

7-8yr old user here using two older a/cs.
Earlier the chat etc. all was working but since Dec. last year its only a loading thing.
 
now they've also introduced this new 'chat' section as opposed to 'legacy chat' which worked until now. New chat section is such a downgrade from the legacy one which leads one to conclude that what were they thinking. It doesn't even work correctly on the mobile browser. Also, the new material look is such a cartoonish rounded mess.
