Registry problem

i have a problem wiht my registry its not opening instead it shows an error message

"The application failed to intialize properly (0xc0000005)"

how can i fix this problem:huh:

Whats your Os, Do you have a dual boot system.

Hey Enigma, start ur machine in safe mode with command prompt and from dos prompt, type "scanreg". U can use system mechanic or regseeker for repairing ur registry.

i have only one os and thats windows xp professional

Did u install anything previously, which may have caused this error? If yes, then try uninstalling it and then starting registry... Hope this works...

i dont remember what i installed earlier its been like this for more than a month i have been trying to find some answer to this crap.

Ok, u had any 'System Restore Point' prior the problem started? If yes, then u can restore ur system back. But anything newly installed will have to be re-installed. And didnt u try the regseker or Sys. Mech.?
