Laptops repair laptop or just buy a cooling pad ?

my laptop fan died i guess and does not seem to come on ever. so my netbook keeps shutting down after 20 mins when it overheats. i hate this slow 1 ghz amd dual core and was planning to upgrade by jan next year. should i waste like 500-1000 in repairing it or just buy a 300 rs cooling pad and that should help it cool and not shut down right.

I don't think you'll need to spend 500-1000 for repairing just the fan. try applying some oil on it and see. else cooling fan would be ok as it will be useful for your new laptop too
