Recently my HD 4870 went kaput and i am looking for a replacement , i will be using it basically for light gaming & some video encoding, i don't care much about AA and looking for a card which will allow me to play the newest games at respectable FPS.
i was thinking of HD 5770 but seems its ancient history
and stopped following the GFX scene long back so no clue which budget GFX cards to look for (frankly the market is flooded with AMD Rx and Nvidia GT/GTX series which really confused me ). my budget is between 5-7 K and my Config is below.

what is respectable frames per second ? 30 ? 45 ? 60 ? At what resolution do you intend to play ? 1080p ? and newest games doesnt say much unless you state the genre atleast ( fps / rpg / strategy / puzzle ) . Assuming you have figured out all of that - id say Sapphire 7770 for that price, but thats just me shooting in the dark.
