How to do it? I received a mail from some scammer pretending to be working for L&T. I forwarded it to L&T people. What else we can do? Can we let the cops know?

I used to get lot of such fakes from Maruti, mahindra, tata, l&t, bajaj, telco etc. Did nothing and it stopped after harassing for 3+ years.

They ask to deposit amount such as 5k or 25k for guaranteed job for ctc 3lacs p.a. to 5. With direct formality round with the head.

Yes, many have. Don't be so surprised. Many are also "legal scams."
