Hi

Welcome to all the members and visitors. I am following this forum for quite a long time. But for sometime I am feeling users are deviating from the soul purpose of this forum. Now let me explain this. Many members are asking for help on selecting a System. They are helped by the tech experts quite fast. They purchased the system but the problem starts now. I have seen rarely any one put the reviews of their new system purchased after following the advice. Guys it’s my humble request to all the members to put your user experience regarding the product so that others also get help from it and the tech experts also feel good. After all they are not charging any thing for their support to you on the forum.

This forum solves problems and help technologically as well as economically (so that you shouldn’t fall prey into the hands of those con businessmen). Every month there is a guide of the month which helps a lot.

As you know there are two types of reviews. One is lab review (Anadtech, xit-lab etc.) and the second one is user reviews which are most important. I can give you a very simple example. Any one asking for a good PSU most of the time in forum it is suggested to go with Corsair Vx 450 because it is a tested and trusted one. But my question is dose the world end with vx450. What about the competitors like Sesonic , Tagan ,Gigabyte etc. Many members from this forum have been using other brands but they never think once to put an in-depth review/experience here. When ever a situation arises of selecting the best on a particular segment/platform it became an fight between brands. Why not put our in-depth analysis and let the member decide by themselves.

I thank all of you for reading the above. Now it's time to put your suggestions.

Note: I am neither trying nor intending to harm your freedom of speech and opinion. It is a humble request to all so that it could be beneficial. It is my personal observation and view; no one is responsible for this writing except me.

Request to Mod: If the article is not at the appropriate section kindly revert it its correct place.

We do have reviews in the reviews section, but you have to understand that its not always possible for everyone to post an in depth review of everything they buy. For example with a graphics card or motherboard, LCD or some gadget, you can review the build quality, performance in games and maybe any issues they faced.

But if you take something like a PSU, a typical user would be no position to post an in depth review. He can just post his opinion/views. Stuff like these require expensive equipment to make a proper review and that's something dedicated review sites like jonnyguru can afford to have. Most users will not even have access to a Multimeter. In that case what can you post in your review about a PSU except for the most basic facts. I own a Corsair HX1000 PSU. I bought it after reading reviews on jonnyguru. If I were to post a user review what can I post except that it is modular, has great build quality and powers my overclocked quad core, dual GPU's, and multitude of HDD and other peripherals flawlessly. Will I be able to substantiate its ratings? I can only rely on jonnyguru's real world tests for that.

When people can write a review and have enough time to do that, they do it.

Reasonable point. I think he is talking about plain user reviews which might consist of just a few lines.

Or maybe not...

Not everyone has the knowledge/motivation/inclination/time for it.

I also agree with you "Lord Nemesis". But i think there is still some room for users experience whearther that product comes to his expectation or not and what are the additional thing the product has or what are the features he has compromised with that product? Don't you think "Lord Nemesis" that will be great also?

If there are any problems with a particular product, that gets posted here as well. One just needs to use 'search' more :)

I think we techies can help noobs here by putting a review of every small thing we purchase. Hence users can find it easier to think upon their choice. Moreover their queries can simplified and answered in an easy manner.

What you guyz think.

I purchase approximately 20-30 Desktops on na monthly basis. Also around 5 scraps and EOL thrown out of my organization.

Approximately 2 Servers/month.

& approx 5 Network Devices every month. However I cant promise of review of each and everything but can try to put some reviews.

The OP need to understand that most of the members here have their day jobs :P or are student. Not all can sacrifice time and resources like the professional reviewers do. Besides, you too are a member. Can you write "indepth" review when you're busy?
