I required a camera for my wife who is a dermatologist. In her line of work, she has to record skin profiles for patients "before" and "after" treatment. I've basically no idea on what kind of camera to get for such a purpose. She is not tech savvy, so the camera should be simple to operate.
She wants a smallish camera like an ultracompact but I think that in her line of work, the camera should be rugged also. So, I prefer getting her a compact instead of an ultracompact.
For starters, I'm thinking that a camera with a large 3.0 inch screen (I remember the Sony DSC-N1, N2 etc had a 4 inch screen but I think it's not available anymore. Plus I don't think they would come cheap.) would be a plus as one could see the image in more detail.
My requirements would be
1) Large 3.0 inch screen.
2) Somewhat rugged among compact cameras.
3) Within budget of 6-8K. Would shell out 10K only if I find an exceptionally good camera.
4) Image stabilization.
Please provide your suggestions.
