I am facing a small issue w.r.t display resolution settings...
After I installed the graphics card, whenever i restart my PC, the display resolution changes to the basic resolution 1024x768. Than I have to go and manually change the setting to 1280x1024. Help.. suggest what settings to be done?

Re: Resulution setting for my system changes after restart !! HELP !!

What is the native reso of your screen?? Have the graphics drivers been installed correctly and which gfx card are you using? Try uninstalling graphics drivers from control panel-->add/remove programs. Then restart your PC, after restart install the graphic drivers again and restart.. set reso to what you want...restart again to make sure reso stays as set earlier

Native??? Generally i set the resolution to 1280x1024.
Also the graphics driver is installed without any error .... still i will try uninstalling it and re-installing the latest driver...

Also jus a thought.... is it because .. when i start any game.. the resolution changes and when u exit the game ..again the resolution changes back to the set display resolution ... is this .. by any chance ...the reason for the change in resolution after re-start/......???

^^ thats not the case.. if 1280x1024 is the max reso of your screen (this is called native reso), then I guess you would be changing the reso in games and this reso will be less than 1280x1024 and thus after exiting the game , the screen comes back to the set desktop reso 1280x1024..This is normal.. So thats not the problem... the real problem here is you have to set reso each and every time after a restart.

Check the refresh rate setting for the reso 1280x1024... make sure its 60hz...

First mention your whole configuration for a better analysis of your problem. Your monitor and the max resolution it can handle.

No.... 1280x1024 is not the max resolution for my display ...

Thats why my first post was what is the max reso of your screen ?

Anyway doesnt matter if your max reso is not 1280x1024, when the game exits the screen is automatically gets back to reso which you have set for your desktop...Did you check the refresh frequency?
