Hello!

I have managed to set up my router, but I require some help to fine tune it :)
The set up is as follows..
Modem: smartAX Mt882 (running in pure Bridged mode )
Router: buffalo G125 running tomato
Eth1: main PC
wifi: laptop
I want to assign a Static Ip to my main rig, but when I do this, I am unable to access the Internet..
but when I set the NIc to automatically obtain the Ip, It works flawlessly..

Here are the Router settings

WAN:
Connection Type PPPoE
IP Address 59.92.62.251
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.255
Gateway 59.92.32.1
DNS 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220
MTU 1492

LAN:
Router IP Address 192.168.1.1
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
DHCP 192.168.1.22 - 192.168.1.60
And these are the modem settings.. do i keep the modem in pure bridge or routed mode??

also, Is there anyway I can access the modem webadmin page from behind the router?

Thanks!

When you assign the static IP, make sure you assign a default gateway and DNS as well. You can use the following settings:

IP: 192.168.1.10

SM: 255.255.255.0

DG: 192.168.1.1

DNS: 208.67.222.222

DNS2: 208.67.220.220

That should allow you to go online with a static IP.
