Monitors Running Games on Widescreen Monitor

Hi Guys,

I need to get myself a new monitor pronto but cant decide on widescreen or normal 4:3

I want to know if i am running games at res of 800X600 on a widescreen monitor with old onboard video card ,will the screen disp show the game in the 800X600 res with sides cut off (black) or will it display stretched out images.

Im thinking about ViewSonic VA1912wb Black 19" (Wide Screen)

AFAIK it will be stretched with some distortion.

I wouldn't recommend a widescreen + onboard video for gaming, unless you plan to play 2d games which I doubt. Get a decent graphics card if you're keen on a widescreen.

you can go wide screen but the results will be bad enough the screen will appear to be fuzzy and bad....
