If you’re not committed to any particular brand out there and aren’t the type who has to get their hands on a device the day it comes out, there are some dirt-cheap deals to be had.
AT&T charges $199.99 for a Samsung Captivate, just released last month, but Amazon is now offering it for 1 cent with a two-year, AT&T service agreement. Yep, just a penny.
The Android phone comes with a 4-inch touchscreen and HD video-recording capabilities. It’s 5-megapixel camera comes with auto-focus and what the company calls a smile function. It features a 1Ghz Samsung Hummingbird processor.
The Captivate is able to use voice and data simultaneously. It also features Microsoft Direct Push e-mail, video text-messaging capabilities and a music player.
While AT&T has invested heavily in the iPhone, this could be the company’s best Android offering to date, so for a penny, if you’re satisfied with AT&T service, it’s a deal that’s hard to beat.
