i think that that you should get more than the remaining 4k as a compensation to what he did .
I'm sure if the police gets involved they would surely make him pay more , but icant say whose pockets the extra money will go to :P
 
Just read this now. Really sad to see the lengths someone goes to con another person for money. And what makes this more despicable is that these are educated folks and both son and father are in cahoots here.

Is there any update on this? Hope that it gets resolved and you get your remaining cash back.
