Samsung Galaxy S Plus I9001 : pre-order @ 22.5k!

So the Galaxy S Plus has been listed for preorder in flipkart for Rs.22,500!

Now the phone has just 8GB storage compared to 16GB of i9000. Also the processor is a 1.4GHz MSM8255, Adreno 205 GPU. Eventhough the CPU performance is better than the Hummingbird the SGX540 wipes the floor clean when it comes to GPU.

It has a larger 1650mAh battery. The rest of the specs are same.

The i9000 is also out of stock in flipkart and letsbuy. Whats wrong with Sammy. They have release a phone that performs similar or even worse when gaming and has lesser storage at 12.5% more than the current model/

^android has hardly any games to take advantage of the beefy GPU (pvr sgx 540 vs qc adreno 205). Moreover android UI is not GPU accelerated like WP7 otherwise we would surely see much fluid UI render performance with Mali-400 and adreno 220 GPUs in the current high end handsets. As much as I would hate to admit but android UI does lag behind WP7 & IOS in terms of UI fluidity. In android one is bound to experience a few stutters randomly once in a while even on the present high end dual core smartphones.

Back on topic, this release doesnot make much sense. At 22k this phone is not a very good deal. One can buy a nexus s for 18.5k-19k and easily OC the cpu to 1.4+ ghz after rooting. In fact I can run my Desire HD @ 1.8ghz without any trouble (it has the same soc as the galaxy s plus).
