Monitors Samsung monitor : what would you do ?

Got a Samsung 2030 monitor in Dec for my cousin. It was sent to Goa. Last week it developed a white patch on the screen. Samsung guys came and said it is physically damaged - so will cost 4500 + tax to repair. He bought the monitor here, called Samsung Mumbai, they say the same thing. So what is the best option ? Buy a new monitor ? Any way to dispose off the old one ?

How big is that white patch?If it's a small one I might buy it.But it should not go more than 2K

How did the patch develop? on its own or due some other reason , i also own this monitor.

^ i don't know. I've bought at least 6 of them - first time this happened. maybe damaged while it was being transported to Goa ?

^ ^ the patch is pretty big, monitor is almost unusable it seems.

No use of repairing, get a new one. Try to sell the old one.
