Samsung Panel Lottery for LED?

Does the Samsung Panel Lottery system apply even for their LED series?

I am looking to buy a series 5 40D5500 or Series 6 40D6000 LED from samsung. What panel can I expect?
 
With the D5500 you mostly will get a AMVA panel which isn't bad,i haven't checked the series D6000 for panel info,but it also falls into the lottery.
 
I have 40D5000, it has AMVA panel.. But i don't think it really makes a lot of difference..

This panel lottery is over rated..

Mu advice would be : Don't be bugged with this, go ahead and purchase the set u find suits your needs :)
 
like I was saying .... is this lottery even for the Philips 5000 series... will be going in for the 42 or 46 inch one soon.... LCD ....and idea....
 
^panels for the samsung are supplied from three manufacturers. One from samsung and other two are outsourced.
People look for the samsung panels because they have deeper blacks,better viewing angles.
Though all that is theoretical since i have not really seen an samsung panel alongside a non samsung panel to make out the difference.
