The Optimus Max SAS SSD at 4TB is the highest capacity drive in the market as of now. They are planning to come out with 8TB in the coming year and double the SSD capacity every year there on.

The SAS SSD is expected to be priced closer to its SATA siblings even though it provide enterprise class performance.

It is based on 19nm eMLC NAND flash technology and provides 6GBps interface, upto 400MBps sequential read/write. It is aimed at more read intensive application like media streaming.

SSD prices are falling gradually and their capacity increasing. By when do you think we would see SSDs priced similar to their HDD counterparts?

By 2020 I guess. By that time we should be seeing capacities of around 64TB per disk. Even 6GBps speeds would be replaced by something faster by that time I think.
