Scandisk woes..

I formatted my c: and installed winxp sp2 on it a few hours ago...after that while i was installing firefox light went off and the pc restarted.....

as soon as it reached scandisk....the pc hanged...i restarted it many times..it hangs there again....if i skip scandisk it wrks fine...

any idea how to resolve this issue..

i tried runnnin scandisk from windows but it says unable as some windows file require exclusive access..

try booting into safe mode and run checkdisk..

Stop using fat32?

u could try using chkdsk from the windows recovery console.
