Android Screen guard peeling off from the corner

I recently bought a new phone and applied the 'hydrogel' screen guard to it. The very next day it started peeling from the top right corner. I took off the case and pressing it down and that seemed to fix it but only for a bit. It was peeling again in a couple of hours. Now every few hours I have to check my phone and just press down the corner to reapply.

When this happened for the first time, I applied a fresh new protector but now this is happening with the second protector as well. Is it the case that is causing this somehow? Though it doesn't seem to be affecting anywhere else, just the top right corner. I have a Spigen case, if that matters. Or did I apply the screen guard incorrectly both times?

My old phone had a tempered glass screen guard and didn't have this issue so not sure what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Happens to me as well. Applied a hydrogel protector as my Honor x9b has a curved edge and it keeps peeling away a bit at the edges. Drives me nuts. Temporarily fixed it with buying a case that covers the edges but it's not perfect.

Flat screens are the way to go as flat tempered glasses adhere very well and I never experienced such an issue with my iPhone 11 and it's tempered glass protector.

Ahh yah my new phone also has curved edges. Guess that's the issue. But strange that it happens only on one corner.

Thank you for your help!

some case do not play well with screenguards. I use spigen case on my phone and none of the screenguards hold because the case pushes it out of the screen. I don't want to remove case so I stopped using screenguard.
