Searching for an Indian electronic contact cleaner (like deoxit)!

Hi!

I am looking for a electric contact cleaner to service my stuck up car stereo buttons and clean my mouse button (erratic clicking!)

I came across this much advised "Hosa’s D5S-6 Deoxit Contact Cleaner" which is here.

Have heard/read that this also helps correct micro-switches and cpacitative knobs /pots etc.

So am desperately searching for this thing! Can't find anything comparable in India. Could anyone help me out please?

Thanks!
Chetan

Closest direct replacement is WD-40, though that's messy. You need to visit your local electronics market to see if you can find a suitable product. For example, in Calcutta we get undiluted isopropyl alcohol in aerosols. Now that's good stuff, except it can give you cancer if not handled properly.

A few drops of the same stuff out of a can works, though be aware the stuff at chemists' is likely diluted with water and will need to be properly dried out with a hot air blower before using microswitches.

Acetone works well too, not the one sold as nailpolish remover but the unperfumed product off a drugstore. It might melt a few materials, but should be somewhat safe on electronics.

Thanks for the reply! So basically we don't have any decent contact cleaner in India! So Sad!

I thought Phillips or someone would have made something in India too... So I can use the Isopropyl to clean small micro switches? Like mouse switches?

Thanks for the suggestion greenhorn!. Any idea where 'zorrik 77' would be available online or in-store in DELHI/NOIDA/Ghaziabad?
Thanks!

You get one from Kaiser fluids,i use it in my RC car to clean the mud and what not on the electronics. You get two types one meant for Live circuits meaning you can use it even if the device is switched On and other one for non live circuits which means you have to wait till it drys to use it.Made in bangalore. Not sure whether its available in north.
Costs around Rs250 or more the one meant for live circuit costs around Rs600 Electric Contact Cleaner - Electric Contact Cleaner Exporter, Manufacturer & Supplier, Bengaluru, India and for live

Ok, so can I get Kaiser/ CRC contact cleaners locally? Or online?
I will send enquiry for Kaiser, please let me know for CRC... Also, can CRC be used safely on plastic based micro switches (for example mouse switches)?

@greenhorn: from their website description of the product, the ABRO you linked to, should do fine. But the OP is quiet and query is dated Aug 12, wonder what he did finally!

Throwback! not to piss off the mods or anything, just wanted to say Hi and hope everyone here is fine!
I used a bottle of Kaiser (still have some left after 10 years!) and now use the WD 40 version of electrical cleaner spray. Works great!

Just to emphasize: there's the rust cleaner WD-40 and then there's electrical contact cleaner WD-40. Don't spray the former on stuff you don't want to get sticky. Contact cleaner will evaporate without a trace.

I've used NIKAVI ECC Electrical Contact Cleaner - 400 ml @ 280 to great effect. My car horn became so much louder lol

Good call @n1r0! This is the WD-40 Specialist Contact Cleaner I am talking about.
And yes, there are many local versions available now in the market and even Amazon.in.

Come to think of it, my original ask was 10 years ago - and I had to get this from TradeIndia - how times change, lol!

Did the wd40 formula change? i think the wd40 cans i bought 20 years ago had some text like it can be used to clean electronic devices and had a high dielectric strength. i actually used it to clean keyboard, mouse, remotes, calculators etc.

These are different products, from the same company -

This is contact cleaner version -
