Forum Feedback section for electronic projects/circuits??

i thought since so many of us here are engineers, or will-be-soon...
we can have a section for discussions on homebrew projects...

you can give your opinion on the poll...and it will serve as an interest check...
 
i think they can be put in ocing/modding or consumer electronics. havent seen much demand for them anyway. Dont expect to get a subsection for topics which dont have active interest. too many categories make it too cumbersome. those who are interested can post them in the above mentioned subforums :)
 
for the time being you can have one single thread related to such topic ..if the thread attracts quiet a lot of members and is useful ..then it will be made sticky by the mods..

and once you have a major % of the TE population filled with engineers or to-be engineers..and incase there is active interest & lots of new threads as Greenhorn said .. mods will think of a new sub section i guess :P

as of now we can have a single thread for such topics :)
 
errr...I voted no cos i feel we dont need a separate section since interest is low, but i might mention that I can tell between a diode n transistor, 4 yrs of EnTC Is not forgotten so easily :ohyeah:

Same here; What a statement; If we dont need the section, implies we dont know the difference of the 2; :lol:
 
lol...the "statement" was jus a fun thing...
it does NOT imply that u don know the diff...
anyways...a thread is good enough..
i will start one when i start having issues with my custom lighting system for my rig!
 
I like the idea of a section for projects where potential ideas can be discussed. However I doubt that people will give away their code or methods.

i dont know why you say so...
if i figured out a method to do something fancy...or wrote a stunning piece of code(fat chance of that...)...id love to share it...
we're not some fancy corporate body with trade secrets!

of course it'd be a different thing if i developed an architecture 10 times faster than intel's best, and half as power hungry...with an inbuilt gpu...(even fatter..this chance!)...

but lets first chk out the response to the thread...coz as greenie said..unnecessary sections which are not used much cause clutter...which is true...try looking for a section from the "forum jump" list...its already huge...
 
^Thats where you are wrong. If I developed a code say a new algorithm, I would give it to ACM for publication rather than share it. After that it will be open for the whole world to see. Small codes with some improvements are fine.
 
I think a separate section for DIY projects/devices is the only thing missing in TE. It'll be really interesting to see all the stuff.

well...i spoze so...but i was talking on a much lower scale...ppl havin probs with tried and tested methods....

Build it and they will come.

Doubtless, same argument can be made for any section you want :rofl:
