Hi,

I don't know where this topic goes, but I'm sure it doesn't fit anywhere else so I put it up here. First things first , No offense to anyone . I found that guy name "KMD" buys stuff from US and sells it India. I was excited that I will be able to access the crazy discounts Newegg gives. Too bad for me I think the ratio If I buy stuff from US is 1 $ = 75 Rs. approx cause I was told the 74 $ newegg product would cost Rs6000 inc shipping), but 74 x 50 = 3700. So i was like hoping around 4-4.5k. Boom ! 6k :(
Buying stuff from US is only meant for people who want stuff that didn't arrive in India and are willing to pay extra cash? Is it not for people like me who think they could stuff cheaper in US than in India.

You can find some US based sites, which do international shipping and order from them. Take your chance, you may or may not be charged customs (if you pay customs, be proud that you paid tax to our own country, not to some tom dick and harry to take home). But it will definitely work out cheaper than the dealer's price. Though, you can not order from newegg and some other sites as they do not do international shipping. KMD is not the end of the world to you.

If you do not like his pricing, move on, find out some other way to import or get products cheaper.

U had asked for a bulky material(PSU if i remember right) and KMD has outright mentioned in the first post of his DO that shipping increases astronomically with increasing weight.

So,there u go.....

Well, I'm not asking to be spoon fed here , but I've been searching for sites that do shipping directly from the US with No Luck!! May be If you could suggest me one or two ? Thanks.

Well, all these sites don't actually sell those stuff at the price they say right? Like I love TigerDirect and I found a PSU at Frozen PC OCZ Fatl1ty edition for 59.99$ . Now If I have to order it they would add some shipping charges and that would render it costing almost the same as buying stuff in India. Not to forget so complicated , entering Credit card numbers and then waiting. No wonder Online Buying is so not blooming in India.

Such is life buddy.

Its all demand and supply driven plus government regulation and taxation policies.

US is a huge market, so you get such prices. Prices lower with volume.

The same way when you buy vegetables and fruits, the more you buy the cheaper it gets.

My Recommendation:

1. Trying buying the product in India. You get quick RMA and for that get Corsair for PSUs.

2. If you are too tempted to buy abroad, go KMD's way. He is experienced and will turn out to be cheaper. For all you know you may get a damaged parcel or you would be charged duty on arrival if you order directly on your own.

Your rant about KMD will do no good :). He is a businessman and knows the market forces, especially in a place like Techenclave where all users are pretty much informed. Hence will price things accordingly, giving the best deal :)

Best of luck.

Ebay.com is the way to go.

Although I have not bought any computer item from them yet. I got gr8 deals on clothes. Authentic Ed Hardy and Diesel jeans for Rs.4100 and Rs.3750 respectively, shipped to India and all inclusive. Such stuff would cost at least 1.5-2 times or more in India.

Repped! I have been just sticking to Tech sites and that too who deliver in mainland only...will checkout the garment and overseas shipping now.

^ plus there are no hassles of shipping and customs (if it isnt something very expensive).

but the problem is finding someone. not everyone knows someone going to the US and even if they do, they might not be traveling when you want to buy something.
