Shipping a Phone?

I posted a similar topics in the General section a couple of days ago, with poor response.

I had a friend come back from the US and he bought back an iPhone and two watches. The problem is he is in Hyderabad and I'm in Chandigarh and after two days of looking we've yet to come across a courier service that would take the package. BlueDart, DHL, DTDC, etc.
A few centres take it but they say they have no liability which is scary.
BlueDart says they'll only accept items from those who have a corporate account.

Is there no way to ship these items safely?

well ont really and considering its an iphone i wont be surprised if its lost somewhere

only other alternative is puttin it in some lame box n sayin its somethin else without opening n showin em contents but thats again risky

Ok with a little help from SuperCzar I managed to find a company that would take it:

TNT India Welcomes You

I talked to them on the phone, they said they'll take it and you'll have to declare the items and they'll check and see if they're present or are they just boxes. They assured me the items would not get lost in the way.

But now that I think of it, I'm still a little unsure.

Is it ok to send it when they provide assurance?

use BlueDart. they ships mobiles. i'd sold a phone in this forum and shipped it to arunachal pradesh with BlueDart when nobody else was taking the mobile for shipping. however they charges exorbitant. they charge you for full 10KG and i had to pay Rs.955 to ship the phone and you can insure the phone too at additional charges. talk to Blue Dart cust care directly.

I had sent it through blue-dart from mumbai to hydrabad. They asked me to make a list of all the items i.e phone, charger, mmc, earphones etc. I was charged 300 bucks only and the phone was delivered the next day!!

to all those thinking TNT wont ship they will ship and cheaper. bluedard sux charing close to rs. 900 while tnt max is 250 per kilo

Indian Postal department should ship, I have used it. They are good, but may take few days to reach.
Bluedart, TNT all accept parcels. May be you try it through some shop , they will accept parcels from vendaors.
