Ok, this is the scenario :

Site B has tracked back to A saying - i have borrowed your story .....

Site A the good guy acknowledges it & displays Site B's name in the footer.

But my question, should not Site B reciprocate the wonderful gesture of A & have a footer saying - i borrowed from A on its page too

Sites may or may not link back to the site originating the Ping/Trackback.

so its the copy guys who have to link

see we also moderate inbound links. so if linkback is not there and we know about it we can remove the site or blacklist it.

Ok got it, actually they are two discrete concepts,

Trackback is just like one way mail form you saying hey i have borrowed from you. Good work, keep it up.

Pingback is postage paid return mail, hey i am physically linking to you to say i have borrowed from you. Nice, keep up the good work.

Trackback enables you to notify another site that you wrote something related to what is written on a specific page, even if you don't have an explicit link to this page.

So on our site we have trackback enabled, right.

^^ yes.. sorry for the lousy way i explained it :lol:

and no its not auto enabled.. its moderated. ofcourse we can remove moderation for specific forum sections(individual forums)
