Timeline:
July 14: SMC send account info.
EFT Rs 13,250. Ask to route via Chennai.
July 14, 15: SMC calls, asks for more money. I aks him to refund. SMC tries hard to get at least Rs250. I refuse.
Finally tells me he will get back. Calls back, agrees to sell at original price. Asks me not to post this in forum.
BIG MISTAKE
July 16: ask for tracking info by PM.
No response
July 20: PM again. Finally responds and provides tracking info. Apparently he was away!!
July 21: No monitor. PM again.
July 22 (Thu): Finally monitor arrives. Discover power cable missing.
Call -- no response.
Email -- no response
July 23 (Fri)
Call -- Of course SMC was out on Thursday. Promises action.
I then called Dell, found out the procedure and
informed SMC.
July 26 (Mon)
PM again.
Sent copy of PM to mods.
No response.
July 27 (Tue)
PM mods again.
Finally SMC responds.
"By the time you ordered the monitor, the price was increased. So i called to inform you bout the price increase. But the new price was unacceptable for you. So as a good gesture and because you had already deposited the amount, i decided to go through with the deal even though the monitor was costing us more than what you have paid at that time. And we always check for the power cable before shipping any monitor. I talked to our shipping guys regarding the missing power cable, but they are positive that the monitor was checked for power cable before shipping and the opening was closed by White Tape so that it wouldnt fell out accidentally. Still for your satisfaction, we have shipped a power cable to your address today. Thats all we can do at out end."
Note: SMC PMs me on July 14 with payment info, I pay same day--July 14.
SMC calls me July 14/15 about price increase. Draw your conclusions.
monitor was shipped July 15!!
I did not bargain, argue or plead for the original price. I just said either give me the original price or return the money. It was SMC's choice to accept the price.
Notice that he is doing me a favor by selling at the agreed upon price.
The power cable was never boxed with the monitor--the distributor confirmed this.
Lies and more lies.
July 28: SMC complains to mods about mud-slinging.
I respond.
Mods forward it to SMC and copy me.
SMC doesn't respond.
Aug 2: PM SMC for tracking info, copied mods
Aug 2: Finally receive the tracking info.
Aug 6: Cable finally arrives!!
3 weeks after the billing date.
SMC doesn't send me new invoice.
So have only one week of premium panel warranty instead of one month.
No time to deal with SMC and give up.

I suppose the the accessories were delivered to you without any extra cost to you Mr Nag- And no one is perfect it was another employee here who had forgotten to put in the cable and claimed it was. Thats exactly what was communicated to you. Please think about a dealers reputation before making negative comments. Things can be sorted out nicely instead of shouting and blaming.
