Snapchat , GMail - weird situation.

Need help wrt Snapchat and GMail.
Weird situation due to below:

ramkumar at gmail will get emails addressed to ram.kumar at gmail !!! WTF

Getting messages sent to a dotted version of my address
If the sender added dots to your address, you'll still get that email. No one else sees your emails, and no one can take your account. For example, if your email is johnsmith@gmail.com, you own all dotted versions of your address:

• john.smith@gmail.com
• jo.hn.sm.ith@gmail.com
• j.o.h.n.s.m.i.t.h@gmail.com

I'm a old enough to have a gmail address of first.last with no numbers etc., and for most of the existence of my email address i've had a filter + label called "noobness", specifically set to filter the non-dot version of the email.

But anyway, what's the issue with snapchat with this "feature" of gmail?

not only that, even john.smith+1, johnsmith+2 … same as johnsmith in gmail.

can anybody confirm if schat account can be created without clicking the verify link in the email.
say, just mention any random email address and verify schat account only by mobile sms?
I dont use schat so dont know.
