Hey

As recently my razer deathadder mouse started giving me left click problems i mailed razer US to rma my faulty mouse. First they told me to contact my area distributor and resolve the issue with them.
Then afterwards, i called Acro Engineering to know the procedure and they told that since my mouse has just expired it's 1 year indian warranty in March this year they can't help.

Then i replied razer and told them that distributor is refusing to rma the mouse, they said ok and told me to fill the form with all my details with scanned invoice.

So i did this and now after 3 days they replied me with this mail

Hi there,

Thank you for the reply and I am sorry for the inconvenience. We are unable to assist you on the warranty claim since it was purchase from unauthorized reseller. As much as we would want to help every customers as best as we can, we still bound to our policies on exchanges and return .

You can check our full term warranty at www.razerzone.com/warranty

Sorry again for this inconvenience

Thank you and have a nice day

Best Regards,
Andrew J.

Shocked as i told them previously that i bought the mouse from "Flipkart.com" which i thought were the authorized reseller but suprisingly they are not.
So now i want to warn you guys not to buy any razer product from them as they are unauthorized sellers.

This is their list of official resellers in india :Link

Wait, you said the warranty expired in March, right ? So the Distributor didnt do anything wrong in denying the warranty claim. Then why would you complain to Razer US ?

I just bought Razer mousepad from Flipkart... The box in which the mat comes was distorted as if someone walked over it...

Btw I was contemplating about getting Deathadder but there was complaints about its reliability n left click issues on every forum I checked... So Got Logitech G400 instead...

Razer honours 2 year warranty on their wired mice whereas indian retailers give only 1 year through their side. That's the reason i contacted razer us directly.
They accepted to replace the faulty mouse initially but after knowing that i bought it from "Flipkart.com" they simply refused. The mouse is still under the 2 years warranty btw.

You have done the right thing by going with logitech as razer's built quality is terrible. The other advantage is their 3 year warranty.

The Razer DeathAdder sucks. I'm using it for the past 2 years with problems. Many issues with left-click -- doesn't click, double-clicks on single click, can't hold and drag, or can't double click at all.

I'm not playing any games, hence am sticking with it for the time being; though using it in Photoshop or for other editing purposes is horrible. I would like to shift to a decent mouse soon.

They honour 2 year warranty if purchased in the us. U need it to send it back to usa and they will send back replacement to us address.

Razer is utter crap.I bought a Razer Lycosa 2 years back after being suckered by the glitzy marketing and just after 2 months the Enter key got stuck and had to replace the keyboard.Moved on to Logitech after the keyboard died at the end of 1.5 years.

People please don't bash razer. The topic at hand is that flipkart isn't authorised to sell razer stuff.

P. S. I have a death adder, third year, no problems, never rmaed.

I have got another mouse, so am not gonna send it anywhere now. Their build quality is not that good and we get only 1 year local indian warranty from the dealers btw. I am not gonna keep buying gaming mice worth 3k every year :arghh:

That's why i chose a logitech g400 this time, i know it's ergonomics can't match with that of a razer ones but still it has 3 years warranty so i have peace of mind at least.

^Razer provides 2 years warranty.Indian distributors reduced it to 1 year.

Quality is the same worldwide.
Only difference is I could have my Mouse RMA'd if I was in USA, but since I am a second-class customer, I couldn't, right after it started acting weird after 12 months.

Moreover, there are better options to choose from now. So, keeping away from Razer is a better and safer option.

Although it may sound stupid, did you try asking Flipkart about this? i.e. the unauthorised sales of Razer products.

On a related note, I am on my third second-gen DA! Both the previous units developed the same double-click issue and was RMA'd. The MS IE 3.0 also developed the same problem (and a middle-click issue as well!) before and was replaced. And before that, the grip of the MX518 (second-gen) started wearing off pretty soon. In less than 6 months IIRC. I have a terrible relationship with mice! :p

Can't Razer sell directly through Flipkart?

Yeah that's a good suggestion. Provided Flipkart (i.e. WS Retail) registers themselves as an authorised reseller through Razer. Someone (OP?) should let Flipkart know of this no-warranty-honored thingy. Otherwise, FK unwary of this would continue selling Razer products and many more folks may face issues later.

WS RETAIL is no longer owned by flipkart, also they will have to handle imports, pricing and rma.

That is why contracts are awarded to big companies with a wide network.

And selling via Ws retail is the same as selling via acro.

Once fdi in retail is passed, all companies will be able to invest directly instead of the long chain at the moment.
