Storage Solutions Sony AW- G170S problem

Hey guys..

I recently upgraded my motherboard from Intel G965WH to Abit IP35-E. After this, there's some problem with my sata DVD writer ( Sony AW-G170S ) refuses to write any media completely. I tried windows XP cd writing wizard/ Nero 7/ Nero 8 but no improvement whatsoever.
It starts writing on the cd/dvd and abruptly stops, ejecting the disc. The error it is showing is ' CD writing could not be completed '
What can be the reason ?

Problem is solved. I flashed the firmware with NEC optiarc drive's firmware and reflashed it to the original Sony firmware. Surprisingly, it worked !

Mods - can we lock it up ?
 
Thank god its not locked up ! ;)
The same problem persists. The dvd writer simply refuses to write on any media. Have flashed the firmware to latest available for the AW-G170S, but to no avail !
