Sony Cybershot W530 OR W610

Needed to buy a P & S. Shortlisted the Sony Cybershot W530 and the W610.

While the W530 is available for 5.7k, the W610 is available for 5.5k using the ebay coupon.

Considering the fact that I am a Camera and Photography noob, can people please guide me as to which one is a better choice amongst the two?

The facts that I know are:

The W530 has Carl Zeiss Optics whereas the W610 has Sony Optics.

The W530 is an older Sony model and the W610 was recently launched in January 2012.

So, is the W530 EOL? If yes, what about Warranty? Sony offers 3 years warranty.

Please advise soon as the ebay coupon expires on 20th April, 2012 i.e. 2 days from now.

none of these are good at this price. both of these dont have manual focus or image stabilization. at that price you will get better nikon or canon cameras with these two features plus macro focus of around 1cm and hd video recording.

^^ Lol I just liked the slim form factor of these ones. I couldn't find any Canon cam with a slim form factor!

Still, can you please recommend Nikon/Canon cameras in this price range? But internal Li-ion battery pack is absolutely essential! TIA.

Is the Canon A 3300 IS a good buy for ~ 6.4k?? Are there any cheaper options available??

And how about the Canon A2300??

yes A3300 IS is a very good choice. If you want a compact camera, then you can also see the Canon Ixus 115 which is a bit pricier than the A3300.

^^ I'll mostly opt for the A3300 then. It is available for 6.4k on ebay DOTW. I have inquired if Black colour is in stock. Will buy as soon as they confirm colour availability. Thanks...

BTW, do you think that the A3300 willl fit into a Lowepro Stockholm 10 or a Lowepro Volta 20? I have both cases brand new and unused lying with me!
