Sony Ericsson comes to an end

This was rumored for quite sometime now and its depressing to think now that an era of SE phones have finally come to an end, and that also just when SE was really beginning to improve.

When did we lose Nokia?

And what's with the "we won't see any more phones?" :S This is just a buyout, Sony will still make phones. Instead of the name Sony Ericsson, you will see Sony. Sony is taking over Ericsson and will have complete control over it. This would actually improve the quality of their products.

I personally never liked the SE phones. Too glossy and flashy for me (especially with the unnecessary chrome detailing on the Xperias!)... :P

Hope to see better functioning and sober looking phones from Sony!

I still have my w800i white-orange phone and for a guy having a white and orange phone, it sure would raise looks from others, this is when it was launched.
Was the first expensive phone for me after i started my job, had bough for 17000 Rs from Alfa.
Since then, i have never spent more than this amount on any single phone.
But i believe K750i was a true gem of piece.

SE has the best looking phones ever. I'll miss those sexy phones. :(

PS- +1 for k750i for being a true gem!

My first phone was a Ericsson one that was before their partnership with Sony. And I never thought of buying anything with Ericsson written  after that.

So I for sure I never felt Ericsson was such a valuable company that we have to miss them.

Those were the best days of SE. They had awesome phones back then.

The k800i was an awesome camera phone. Currently lying on my desk right now. :P (Not my phone though)

SE phones were awesome. My first phone was K550i, another gem of a phone. Hope Sony continues the same in future.

Remember having a flashy blue and orange flap phone w300i during my college days.. loved the sound quality of the phone and surely was trendy... always have a soft corner for SE phones... hope they come back in the market with a BANG! !

Sony is only buying Ericsson's share in the mobile venture for about $1 billion, and not entire Ericsson.

This makes me feel really nostalgic. I had a w810i which served me for almost 3 years. 2MP cam with autofocus and dual LED flash along with awesome in -ear earphones was really something in those times. It always used to help me a lot in taking pics of notes as none of my friends had phones with autofocus. Those were the days :(

Sad day. It was always about sony hardware and ericsson software. The much loved sony ericsson grid ui was actually developed for ericsson t68. Had a bunch of se phones. 2 phones really worth ogling white M 600 and black T 630. All time fav was obviously a silver T 600.

The following image shows a white M600. Notice the attention to detail(in those days). The phone Box has blue highlights and so does the box. Also many phones came with color coded accessories like lanyard.
