Audio Sound card fried?

So till evening today, my speakers/headphones were working fine. I turn the pc off to get dinner, log back and i find that all the sound is horribly low. I tried talking over vent but i could only transmit voice, the reception was really low.

I'm using the ALC662 from Realtek. Could it be that the sound card is not supplying enough power? But the problem exists for both headphones as well as my self powered 5.1 system.

Any help on this? Mobo is asus m68amse2 and os is vista 32.
 
Low sound mays be due to shorting of some input of output terminals.
Also in windows sound panal check if all the input and outpuj levels are high
