Guys..
just when i took my car out of parking realized that there is a sudden niose when i press the brake pedal.. The brake pedal is also not smooth as it was earlier..plus my left front tyre is punctured...
What is the reason for this sound??
Car is Hyundai i10...

Thanks for the info, will get mine too checked out. The Maruti service engineer said its due to water in the brakes.

Get the system checked out thoroughly and get the brake fluid changed and bled. Water in brake fluid will give a spongy feeling.

(Hope you changed the tyre before testing brakes?)

squeaking noise comes due to either mis aligned or worn out break liners. you may need to get new break pads if its disk breaks. if the sound is from rear, the drums either need new break shoe.

The noise could be from a variety of reasons. A grain of sand stuck between the disc and calliper could also produce such a sound. What do you mean by a smooth brake pedal?

punctured tyre is repaired...[DOUBLEPOST=1377267003][/DOUBLEPOST]will service the car at hyundai service center...

Mostly the brake pads needs a change. Get it changed outside of service centre. Would be lot cheaper plus you will get to learn couple of things about the car ;).

if it's a sharp screeching sound (similar to the ones that you hear when brakes are applied on them old rickety buses), then it's probably small particles stuck on your disc pads which are rubbing against the disc itself. In that case remove the pads and try rubbing them off.
