PC Peripherals speaker decisions?

wanna change my atp3 speakers....had owed the 621's previously..
have to choose between these speakers -
altec lansing 621 (not too keen on buying these again...bored)
altec lansing mx 5021
altec lansing fx 6021
altec lansing cs21 (new substitutes for the 621's, nebody seen these?)
logitech z220 (r these available here?)
creative megaworks 250d.....
inputs by batli n chaos would be appreciated :D

fx 6021 is supposed to be lousy thought some ppl say its "ok" .

250d is good as well but bass heavy

mx5021 is good overall , no real faults. clarity is astounding. some ppl say the bass is weak but i find it ok.. actually i set the bass on the speaker controller to 1 :P

no idea about the rest , wait for chaos ;)
 
I've heard the Megaworks 250D, MX5021 and FX6021. My impressions are that the megaworks is way too boomy, the FX6021 is too bright and MX5021 is totally flat. I think that reviewer was smoking crack :D. He gave the 221 (2.1 version of 251) a higher rating than the MX5021 :P. I'd listen to the CS21 first before judging it. Have no real idea about that one. I believe its priced similar to 621 abroad so it shud sound similar. I know what kind of music you listen to... going by that, the MX5021 is the best choice ;). Also forgot... get a good soundcard ;)
 
^^LMAO. Why did u ever buy bose :P. For the same price u could have got paradigm/b&w + an svc sub which would kick the bose to the moon :D
 
Nope Man.....I got them from Delhi.....My friend works in a Showroom for the Sound Systems.....and got a Good deal From him.......but yes the prices are insane.....really Insane.......One Woofer is Around 25k and that too the starting version.

hmmmm...thnks for ur inputs..the local altec disti's never heard of the cs21 :(...so looks like mx5021 is pakka....8.7k....right price?.....also chaos what do u mean by 'totally flat'?...the soundcard i have right now is the sb live 5.1 de...will it do??...or else i can "borrow" darks sb live 24bit...hes getting a audigy2..
 
Totally flat means a response that does not favor any part of the sound spectrum. So the response is equal to the entire frequency range. Thats how sound equipment should be. 8.7K is a great price ;). Get Darky's SB Live 24bit. It'll sound way better than the 5.1DE.

@dev He's talking about 2.1 systems not 5.1. The ones you mentioned are all 5.1.
