B bosky101 Explorer Dec 18, 2005 #2 Try each of the following steps in order and see if any of them fixes it .if not try the next . 1.Switch of all peripherals ,unplug all wires ,and re boot . 2.Go to start->run->regedit,make the following registry change : HKLM>Software>Microsoft>WindowsNT>CurrentVersion>Winlogon>Shell Click to expand... Edit the contents of the Shell tag to Explorer.exe ,and then reboot .eg it might be "explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\virusname.exe" 3.Try the following crazy sequence : / 1. Logon as User 1 2. CTR-ALT-DEL to get to the task manager 3. On the menus above, Shutdown>Switch User 4. Logon as User 2 5. again CTR-ALT-DEL to get to the task manager 6. again on above menus but this time Shutdown>Logoff (User 2) Click to expand... 4.Go to start->run->regedit. Then delete these keys : 1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplorer.exe and 2.
