Well guys, too many subforums is not good.
We had a problem right here on TE in past. It is observed in the past that people tend to visit relevant hardware sections more than subforums. And people tend to restrict themself to the section of their interest if there are too many subsections. e.g they tend to visit only Intel section or AMD section ( this happens a lot on big forums ).
In the past we had news section here on TE and nobody used to see whats posted there. And it was found that when those same topics were posted in relevant hardware section, it instantly got hits.
Also limiting sections means its easy for others to stumble on your query, post and answer them.
I have used all kind of systems till date and say if we create separate AMD-Intel or NV-ATI or Windows -MAC then i may not visit AMD - MAC sections at all even when i am perfectly capable of answering many queries there or to gain knowledge from there.
Its PITA to even moderate for the staff if there are too many sections and subforums. No of mods is limited.
About Peripherals section . We already have different sections for CPU , mobo, Graphic card, storage, laptop. SO whats left? only Displays, printers and AV stuff related to pc. Thats enough to be honest.
Consumer AV queries can be posted in consumer section.

If no Apple and MS..
Then TE can have a really good AskQs Section, where users can Ask Questions...
This does not even make sense to be honest. What are all these sections for? they are not just to share info. you are free to ask queries, questions in relevant section. Most people do that anyway.
