Stone Falling from Sky, Still can't believe.

Real incidence, don't make fun, I just want to know the reason behind this. Reason may be scientific or logical or anything that 'exists' -

I am damn sure many members here will make fun of this thing. But I just wanted to share.

My home, situated in Kagal (Town), Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Has ground and first floor, ground floor has 5 rooms and 1st floor has 2 bedrooms.

This is what me and my family members found since some months. I wanted to share this with you.

1 month ago, We were about to sleep, I heard sound of falling something from sky in our backyard. We ignored as they could be small coconut.. All family members heard the sound clearly.

Next morning, my mom was working in backyard, again lots of small stones started falling.. She just thought, neighborhood childs are throwing them. She went there but there was no one. She called me.. I went there, saw the small stones fallen on specific place.

Again, after some days, 1AM @ midnight. I was watching movie in my bedroom, heard same sound. Stones were falling for about 2-3 hours within some time interval.

Next day, we told neighbor about this. We decided to find out who is doing this. We hired some peoples to watch on "who is doing this?"

After some days, at night, same thing happened.. We (and all hired watchers) found no one is doing it. We saw the stones were directly coming through sky.

There is no solution for this.. No one is doing this, it is just happening.

Personally I never believed any superstitions, aliens kind of things neither my family members did, but because of this my mom has started predicting lots of things :huh:

Anyone know, actually what is happening? I think this is something related to science.

hail stones are normal and is rain but iced up so it comes down as blocks of ice , or stone as you would find it. ive been lucky to have witnessed this about thrice in my life , put your hand out n reach for one of these stones n see its nothing but ice.

also be careful , some of them come at such a high speed , ive seen car windshields shatter on impact so enjoy :)
 
People should have heeded Stephen Hawkings warning.. Now we have to face the wrath of the stone yielding "aliens" :rofl:

Anyways back to topic, this is an interesting read. I used to alwys wonder why aliens are not a topic in the GT section :eek:hyeah: M sure there are some with their own experiences too...

How can a it be only for specific space. And how can Ice rain last in summer where there's not even a single rain cloud in sky.

@ RadioHeAd - I never believed in Aliens.. I am telling the fact that happened here.

Anyways just my 2cents on this okay,
There are many reasons why this can happen. as Soulfire has mentioned, most of the times it is nothing but the hailstones that u have probably encountered. They usually are as hard as stones but purely ice. Also its no surprise if even stones do actually fall from the sky. There could be various climatic factors which can result in particles/ or even larges objects get trapped in the clouds. In fact i faintly remember a case of fishes falling from the sky !!! M sure its nothin to worry about.

Just enjoy the phenomena which very few people have encountered and if u really wanna know more about it try to gather more info.. U can take a few snaps if u can distinguish those said stones, and we can verify it online what exactly it is. N ya its raining in some parts of india almost everyday especially the southern side..
 
i have seen monkeys throwing all sorts of things sitting on trees here in Ahmedabad. are u sure there are no monkeys in your vicinity?

call up India TV!! you will be in the limelight!! they cover such bizzare stuff beautifully in a way no one can possibly present!!!
 
Can you verify if any illegal mining activities are happening around (100km radius)? When mining happens stones far away of about 50-70 km can reach you. There was news items regarding this. Probably someone's digging well at night?

BTW, though no idea about this incident, but hails are common thing with no issue...

Could you post the photos of the stone falling..
 
Speaking of hailstorm, it happened over an area of >200 acres of land in Idukki two days back, damaging houses and most of the cultivation as per the TV channels showed yesterday. The ice blocks were said to have been 5 to 10 Kg in weight and seen spread like a carpet. But in your case, it can be remnants of a quarrying site as mentioned earlier.
