Students in the UK and US with a valid email address (an email address given by the college or university, e.g. name@leeds.ac.uk) will be able to purchase Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional (upgrade versions) for #30 and $30 respectively.

The offer will run until 3 January 2010 when the prices will revert to normal.

I am gonna be d first one to get this, I got my lappy from the US (Vaio with Win Vista Home Premium) so I am assuming that the serial number was registered under the US and should make things easier for me.

hmm if its upgrade then your current OS need to legal (not the special version ) .So it doesnt make any sense ,I will wait for DELL OEM version or else will try to get serial keys from MSDN member

why go through all that trouble when u can easily mod your bios with a slic table and get an intstant activated win 7.....;)

^ trouble ? because there are still people in India as well who believe in buying original software ... me one of them and I'm gonna get Win 7 when it gets out.

Wish they had the offer in India. It is not an academic upgrade that they are offering but the full retail upgrade..
