Storage Solutions Suggesion for External Slim DVD writer with iMac support

Please suggest
1) External slim DVD writer with imac support.
Budget < 4K

LG or Samsung or Asus ?

And do we get any slim dvd writers with Firewire Support?

2) 3.5" SATA HDD Case with iMac support

Do we get with firewire port in this? I inquired in Ritchie St, Chennai today and they don't have any casings with firewire port.

Does a normal zebronics case will work with iMac. I will be using this hdd for backup.

1. Not sure about slim writers available in the market, but any USB external DVD writer should work with Mac OS. After all they are just detected as mass storage devices regardless of whether its a DVD Writer, HDD or Flash based thumb drive.

2. Just get a regular SATA HDD enclosure with the USB interface. It will work with the iMac. Firewire is not too common on HDD enclosures these days. So don't expect to find one in the market easily.
