Could you please suggest a Sub + Amp combo for my Dad's Santro.
I just got 2000 bucks today and have 3.5k in the account too so thought of getting a sub and amp which was long due.
Would like it to be as cheap as possible.
Priority is used ones as they would save me some bucks. And if you are selling one, shoot me a PM

I assume your budget is around 5.5 k then?

Now here me out over here, a sub and amp can only enhance the sound if the components and rear fillers are of good quality. If they arent, try to change the comps and rear speakers and then go on to something like a woofer and amp combo.

Anyway, if you wish to go ahead with this budget, it is possible to get one but the amp wont really do the job of an amp and the woofer wont really do the job of a woofer. Dont want to discourage you or anything, just being brutally honest as i have gone through this phase.
If you are low on budget, then get a entry level amp first - good models should cost around 6 k. Then later add a sub.

Lol dude. Dont have even that much budget. Any way, I asked a friend of mine who has Car accessory shop to look for used ones. He said, in my budget it could be found but as you said it wont be as good as it should, I will only search for a few days. If not found, will upgrade the monitor or save the money for future shopping

^ Good thinking.

I would however suggest if possible, upgrade your front speakers as it would help you get a better soundstage.

Any suggestions for those front speakers?
BTW, I have JVC system with 4 Pioneer speakers. The back speakers are pretty good. I mean that they have good bass and clarity but that's not enough for dubstep.

@scott:- checkout which front speakers are into? Componenet or Co-axial. 4" or 6".
Also pl check if rear speakers are oval or co-axial. R they on plank board or at stock place given by company (plastic mud behind rear seat).
One imp question- what you would like to get in music improvement by adding amp+sub set up.? Mean, you like to get more bass, vocal or treble or anything? Let me know your music target you wish to opt.

Dont know about them as my father had them installed and threw the boxes of those. So I will have to ask my friend who has an accessory shop. They are 4" btw.
The back speakers are oval, co-axial and are installed at the stock place. I am looking to get more bass from dubstep music.
I think I will have to know about my current setup to know what I need to add.

Also, my speakers used to sound real good when I turned the volume to 20 (They can reach 50). Everything was good. The bass, the treble and the vocal with no kind of distortion or noise. But from some months, when I turn the volume to 20, there is some kind of noise which kinda ruins the whole experience. Now I keep the volume to 13 only. Is this because they are installed on the stock board? I have tried different equalizer settings but none seems to work now.

Maybe I only need a plank board and an amp as the bass was really enough from these speakers.

Anyway, do tell what you think. Any budget amp you would like to suggest?

With lil info, I suggest stepwise upgrades your system.
1. Buy good component speakers and JBL/Blaupunkt 4 Ch amp. For component speaker, check out JBL GTO or Blaupunkt series. Powering front component and rear oval is good set up initially. Later on, you can power sub if require. This cost to ~5k.

Polk db & infinity ref series in component, a decent choice but on higher budget.

IMO, tuning components is a skill job, get it done by qualified technician only.

2. If satisfy with rear oval speakers, just install on plank MDF board (should be thick >10mm) at 10-20 degree inclination towards car roof. This helps in balancing soundstage.

3. For typical noice @ vol.20 , check mounting screw of speakers and then wiring from technician in sequence. Just have hands on various setting in JVC HU.

Just live with above set up at least 1-2 months for better judgement. If not satisfy then think next step which you never need, i am sure!:p for the santro.

Happy listening.. :)
