Alright reviving an old request with fresh parameters. :p

Old thread: http://www.techenclave.com/pc-peripherals/complete-pc-configuration-within-25k-photoshop-149809.html

Someone I know needs a new PC within a few days. Mentioned below is the filled template. Please suggest a suitable config.
  1. Q: What is your budget?
    • 40K

    -
  2. Q: What is your existing hardware configuration (component name - component brand and model)
    • Laptop/Not Applicable

    -
  3. Q: Which hardware component are you looking to buy (component name). If you have already decided on a configuration then please mention the (component brand and model) as well, this will help us in fine tuning your requirement.
    • Any IPS panel
    • Intel i7 920 (preferably)
    • 2TB storage (to start with)
    • 6GB RAM
    • Good PSU

    -
  4. Q: Is this going to be your final configuration or you would be adding/upgrading a component in near future. If yes then please mention when and which component
    • More storage, preferably but not necessarily more than 4 HDD

    -
  5. Q: Where will you buy this hardware? (Online/City/TE Dealer)
    • Mumbai
    • Open to online purchase

    -
  6. Q: Would you consider buying a second hand hardware from the TE market
    • No

    -
  7. Q: What is your intended use for this PC/hardware
    • Browsing
    • Desktop Processing. Primarily HEAVY image processing in photoshop.
    • Storing lots of photographs
    • Watching HD movies

    -
  8. Q: Do you have any brand preference or dislike? Please name them and the reason for your preference/dislike.

    -
  9. Q: If you will be playing games then which type of games will you be playing?
    • No

    -
  10. Q: What is your preferred monitor resolution for gaming and normal usage
    1. Desktop - 1440, Higher the better

    -
  11. Q: Are you looking to overclock?
    • Not in a million years

    -
  12. Q: Which operating system do you intend to use with this configuration?
    • Windows 7

i7920 and i7930 are the same chips almost with the 930 having slightly higer clock at stock and for small price diffrence here in india i would suggest you get the 930 instead of the 920 ...(especially if you are not overlclocking) so here we go

I7 930 -- 13900

6GB Gskill RAM pi series kit -- 11,100

(or)

3x 2gb kingston ram -- 8,100

Corsair VX550 -- 4500

1X 2TB drive HDD -- 6450

IPS panel is gonna be very diffcult to fit into the budget . ...

the above config leaves you with 7k more to get the display in ....

Any IPS panel - 14k (22/23" Dell IPS. Not sure of cheaper market alternatives)
Intel i7 930 (preferably) -14k
MSI X58 Pro-E - 10.5k (Is it excluded from the budget :S)
2TB storage (to start with) -6.5k
6GB GSkill Kit - 10k
Good PSU - 4.1k(Seasonic S12II 520w)
Total: ~ 60k. You aint got the budget for this set up.

Alternative
Core i-7 860~14k/ Core i-5 750 ~ 10k / PhenomII X6 1055T~10k
Gigabyte H-55 UD2H~ 5.8k/ Gigabyte 785GMT-USB3 ~ 5.5k
4GB XMS3 Kit ~ 6.4k

If someone comes up with a good, cheap 19" IPS monitor in the market for ~8-9k then other stuff can be choosen with the remaining budget.

Also what about the rest of the stuff like casing, I/O Devices, ODD etc... You have them already? Also the X-58/ P-55/ H-55 mobos lacks IGP. So a GPU (basic) is also needed IINM.

uhm i cant come up with a quad core cpu and a monitor......

pls increase budget:D

try for amd X2 or X3

555be 5000
gigabyte ma78gmt-usb3 5500
kingston 6gb - 8000 or 4gb 5000
cabinet - any simple one 2000
dvd - 1200
psu - 3500 vx 450
hdd - 6000

total - 31k with 6gb ram..9k for monitor
28k with 4gb ram 12k for monitor

555 has high chance of unlocking to quad although get a 212+ if u unlock as quads give more heat
if u increase budget to 2k more and with 4gb ram u get a 14k dell ips monitor
pretty awesome build for photoshopping

btw whats difference betwen tft and ips panel

Thanks for all the input. To clarify, it has to be a complete PC config including mobo, disc drive and casing. Well even if it increase the 40K budget dont hold yourself back. It can be stretched to 50K if needed. :p

How about we dial down the proc/mobo combo to the nearest cousin to reduce the cost from 24K

Go for the i-7 860. Its on par with the i-7 930 but you can get a much cheaper mobo.

I would suggest the below rig after setting aside 10k for a good 22"/ entry level 24" TN Panel/ 10k IPS panel(I am not aware of one)

Components Description Price (INR)
Processor Core i-7 860 13900
Motherboard GIGABYTE GA-H55M-UD2H/GIGABYTE GA-P55M-UD2 5750/6250
RAM Corsair XMS3 CL9 4GB Kit 6400
HDD 2 TB Seagate 7200.12 6450
GPU Sapphire HD4350 512MB DDR2 1900
Cabinet NZXT Gamma 2100
PSU/SMPS Corsair VX450 3800
Key Board Logitech SET - Optical Blk Mouse+ MMKB 700
Mouse NA -
ODD L.G. GH22NS50 OEM SATA DVD-Writer 1000
Total 42000/42500

actually dont go for one single hard disk , have 2 of them , one can be the primary OS and the other can be the scratch disk for photoshop, if the person is highly into it , then it will come into play
