Hi,

My friend is looking to upgrade his old P4 system!
His main requirements are Photoshop (high quality images), Dreamweaver HTML CSS creating, Movies, Internet, light Gaming etc.

As this is an upgrade, he wants to buy CPU+Mobo+RAM.
Budget: 15,000/- ish.

He will also buy a new Cabinet+SMPS (not included in this budget)

He do not wants to go for 2nd-hand stuffs.
I personally think that with his budget, AMD Platform would give him best performance.
But pls suggest which model to go for.

Thanks and regards.

AMD FX 6300 -7500,
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 -4500,
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB 1600Mhz -4000.
TOTAL -16,000.

Cabinet - Corsair SPEC-01 -3700,
SMPS - Antec VP500PC -3300.
TOTAL -7,000.

Beautiful config.
Can you suggest a 4 CORE processor on the same motherboard to reduce the budget?

Save money on Psu and local cabinet and better buy fx 6300.
Go for antec vp450 -Rs 2300. cabinet -Rs 1000

^ Local PSU, HAHAHAHAHA! Best way to effectively shorten a PC's life and cause 'unknown' issues like hanging, components getting fried etc.

A good PSU is a must, at-least a Seasonic S12II 430W or for future expandability, a Seasonic M12II 520W or Cooler Master G550M.
Doesnt this need a discrete graphics card..

The GIGABYTE motherboard is based on the 780G chipset which has a HD42** series integrated GPU, pretty decent unless the OP's friend wants to use GPGPU based plug-ins in Photoshop. Then a GTX750Ti or entry-level Quadro will be handy albeit at increased cost.

please don't skimp on psu. it's like buying a mercedes and putting wooden wheels on it. sooner or later it will all end in a terrible wreck.
i can recommend seasonic eyes closed.
their base 430w model will be more than sufficient (even if you add a light gpu like 750ti later on).
