For your budget I suggest -

1) HD6670(faster)

2) HD5670(slower)

Also look for GDDR5 versions as they provide much better performance .

But you haven't mentioned your resolution at which you play ?

But if you are not so tight on budget I suggest HD6750(HD5750) or gts 450(GDDR5) 35-40% more performance than HD6670 for 20% more price is worth it for me .

Also you need not worry about SMPS as I have the same(golden coloured ?) and powering an HD5770(HD6770)
 
I had the VIP 400 watts gold series, and it was seriously one of the worst PSU's I have come across, blew up and took my Radeon 9800pro with it back in the day. I do not know how the 500 watts model is, but I would be hesitant to run any GPU which requires an external power source.

I think you must have a bad one . As I said earlier that my VIP 500W SMPS is comfortably powering hd5770 and that to overclocked without probs . Or maybe VIP must have improved over years IDK .
 
Put a few bucks extra and get Sapphire/Msi hd6770-6.7k,it's best within your budget,If the psu is vip gold series 500w then i think it'll handle it else get Corsair CX430V2-2.2k it'll be enough.
