Suggestion for portable speakers

My dad wants to buy a set of portable speakers for his lappy.
So it should be fairly light and not need external power source

Preferable budget about 4k...can be more...
Only things i could see in stores here were ipod docks :@

Suggestions?
 
if i rem correctly .. someone here was indeed selling portable speakers sent to him for testing .. but maybe they were ipod specific.. hunt him down from the relevant section to confirm ..
