Suggestion regarding Mechanical keyboard

Asking on behalf of a friend whose Corsair K series keyboard died (cherry blues) after 6 years or so of usage. His budget is up to 10k. He's fixed with the logi g512 but was wondering if there's any better product available at same range. Obviously build quality and longevity are the deciding factors herein. He doesn't have any preference with reds or blues.

Please share your suggestions, or feedback on any particular product which you may be using.
 
Logitech & Corsair mechanical keyboards are some of the worst out there. It's better to donate your money to charity than spending on those brands.

Rather opt for Ducky or Varmilo from Meckeys. @SunnyBoi posted the link above. They make some of the best keyboards out there, with lubed stabilisers and internal dampeners.

Thanks all of you. I forgot about Meckys, thanks for reminding. Duckys look good but I just don't understand that how a company cannot stand behind their products and provide more than 1 year warranty. I mean what if the product dies just after a year? That's the only reason I usually stick with Logitech or Corsair. After sales service factor must be kept in mind right?

But in any case, as I myself being a Corsair K70 user for past 4.5 years I couldn't agree more that the actual quality is shite. I mean I never imagined a keyboard could cause as much pain to me fingers as this one does, however, I'm coming from a long run of membranes before (g15s at that), so it could be that. But my typing speed never improved from membrane! It's still almost 10 to 15% lower so time didn't change anything. I couldn't get used with touch-type though.

I'll recommend my friend the Duckys. But I'm worried about the warranty span. That other company, Varmilo, are they on par with Ducky in terms of quality, or better? Because personally haven't heard about them until now.

@ibose Tvs Gold is like the golden standard of entry level mechanical keyboard, or I should say- was. Heard that of late they have moved away from using cherrys and using some knockoffs (kalih perhaps not sure). As yours is 6 years old you are using the real deal, so best of luck to yours and wish long life to it ha ha.

In my experience, Varmilo makes better keyboards than Ducky.
  • Firstly, the painted PBT keycaps look and feel much better on Varmilo keyboards. This is because of their dye-sub printing method as opposed to double-shot on Ducky and other mainstream gaming brands.
  • Secondly, the stabilisers. Varmilo uses better quality stabs with a generous amount of lubing, making them much less rattle-y and operate smoother than Ducky ones.
  • Thirdly, the internal dampeners. Varmilo uses a sheet of foam in their keyboard cavity. This highly minimises the hollow sound when you type on Varmilo keyboards. Ducky doesn't use internal dampeners.
Moreover, Varmilo keyboards are less RGB and more artistic ones compared to Ducky.

Keys and build qualities are one thing, but liking a keyboard is very subjective. Even if you like one now, chances are you'll get bored with it even before the keyboard dies on you. So if budget allows, at lease go with one which has removable key switches to spice up the things when required.

I disagree. Cherry switches feel and sound like garbage compared to even cheap Gateron or Kailh switches. Cherry is no longer the "standard" for mechanical switches.

If you want the best typing experience south of 5k, pickup a TVS Gold Pro which comes with Kailh Box White switches. I have had them and its a delight to use the keyboard.

This is precisely why I suggested the GMMK hotswap keyboard. If yiou get bored or if you have problem with switches, you can just swap them out in a jiffy.

Any suggestions for TKL keyboard in a similar price range? Want the mouse to be closer to me.
