Graphic Cards Suggestions for a Graphic card ....

Hi all
Ineed sum suggestions for a pcie graphic card . since i just bought a nu pc , i aint havin a large budget ......its around 4.5k ......i dont wanna spend much also coz the dx10 cards r round da corner so m savin for dat ........ my oonboard is a gf 6100 ...i kno it can get things goin but not as well ....coz i jus wanna experience games like nfs carbon........so ne suggestions wud be helpful....thnx people
 
stick with 6100 ..... for 4.5 u will not get much better ......... try getting a secong hand 6600GT if u can ...... or a new 7300GT ....... but i doubt u will be able to play carbon with full details .....
 
Either increase your budget and get atleast a 7600GT/GS or just stick with your onboard graphics. If your budget is strictly 4.5k, then just put that amount aside for the DX10 card. Any thing you get in that amount now will not be worth it.
 
phoenix, no matter what your budget is I suggest you wait for DX10 - why?

1. Launch is around the corner :)

2. It gives you a month or 2 to save up a bit more for a better DX10 card

3. Prices of current cards will fall significantly, so even if your budget is not much you can get something better in a month or two for the same $$$ - ex, 6800XT might drop to 4k and 6600GT to 3k :p
 
luks like i would beneifit by waitin huh ????? ok no probs ....... hey nd another thingy ......... does ne1 have ne idea on the starting range of dx10 cards ????
 
Darn it im in a fix :(

My aunt coming in december and i have budget of 200$

she wont be coming next year and only next to next year

So meaning i will get dx10 only after 2yrs

so what u suggest??

X1900GT or some dx10

Going by the starting prices of 7950GX2 series in India, the 8800GTX should be 60~65k and 8800GTS around 45~50k on launch. In three months after launch in India, the prices should gradually come down to sub 40k. By April, you can expect sub 30k price on the 8800GTS. ATi cards too would have a similar cycle. But my guess is not the price deceases would be a bit slower than with nVidia due to their lower market penetration in India.
 
hmmmm.......dats a bit high for my pocket.....but ill still be waiting ....coz my guess is dat with the release of the dx10 cards.....the prices of the other cards should drop considerably.....so i should get a gud card at that poin .....dunno if nvidia is gonna release dx10 cards for the lower to mid range buyers.....is there any chance of the cards falling in that segment anywhere around may?????
