Storage Solutions Suggestions for a very small External HDD

Recently Got a Seagate external 2.5" drive 320gb one for 3550 in mumbai was good i suggest both seagate and Wd make good external drives. If you are in mumbai TheITWares - Hard Disk Drives / Laptop Hard Disks this is place to go.

I like Western digital too - eBay India: Western Digital 500GB Passport Hard Drive 2.5" 500 GB (item 170405190463 end time 17-Nov-2009 14:18:33 IST) . Get oen from our dealer(theitwares). He's a pricelist somewhere here...

1)does buffalo compete in this segment? should i look consider it too?

2)what are the disadvantages of portable hdds which dont use external power? (i dont want extra mess + i have scarcity of power points)

I have recently bought a Buffalo 500gb portable hdd. Its very compact, lightweight and performs well. No external power is required. You could consider it.
